Images from Paris -- November 2025.
The Conciergerie, a former courthouse and prison on the west of Paris’s Île de la Cité, was part of the royal Palais de la Cité alongside Sainte-Chapelle, and is now a national monument and museum. During the French Revolution, 2,781 prisoners, including Marie Antoinette, were held, tried, and sentenced there before execution by guillotine.
